Starting JGegis by Java Web Start

We would like to point out that the license model for Java has changed.
For further information please take a look at the menu Preface.

Before starting the application you have to install the JRE incl. Oracle Java Web Start™ and be connected to the Internet!

Now there are various ways to start the application:

Using a browser: Without using a browser: In order to create a shortcut to an application in Java Web Start, this application has to be installed to Java Web Start.
To open Java Web Start, please select at the Windows OS the button Start and insert "javaws -viewer".

The Java Control Panel ...

... and the Java Cache Viewer are opened.

Select with the right mouse button the menu item Install shortcut. Now a corresponding icon will be created on the desktop.
In the future you can start the application as described without a browser.

Remark:
Java Web Start is checking on every start if there is a newer version of Java Web Start and of the application you've just started. So it is possible that it will take a little bit longer until the application is started, when a newer version was found because it will be downloaded.
